(upbeat music) - Since I was a kid, I have loved going to the movies, I love everything about it, I love the popcorn, I love the candy, I need something chocolate and fruity, right?

But for someone who loves the movies as much as I do, it's kind of crazy that there's this iconic experience that I haven't had yet, going to the drive-in.

Let's go for it (upbeat music) Y'all, I'm here with Lisa Boaz of The Big Mo.

Lisa, can you tell us a little bit about The Big Mo, and y'all's history out here?

- Sure.

The drive-in originally opened in 1951 as a single screener, it ran more or less continuously until '86.

We found it in '98 and opened it in '99.

Since then, we have added two more screens and switched from film to digital projection.

- Drive-in movies, so iconic.

Why do you think that this tradition has stood the test of time?

- I think that it is just a fun thing for families and groups of people to do together.

People come early, they tailgate, it's a communal experience that you can't really get a lot of other places these days.

- So I'm a first timer, what are some tips and tricks for someone like me to have the best possible drive-in movie experience?

- [Lisa] Come prepared for the weather, this is an outdoor event.

- [Devyn] Yes.

- We can't control the weather, so bring some bug spray, and a lot of people like to make a little bed in the back of their truck or their SUV, so bring some blankets and pillows and get cozy.

Another thing to remember is that it is a double feature, two movies shown back to back.

- All right, let's go for it.
